Think one person can’t change the world? Meet some exceptional people who are doing just that.
What sets these inspiring Canadians apart is that, rather than just dreaming of a better world, they have channelled their passion into real action – with game-changing results. Some, though by no means all, have been blessed by good fortune; but rather than merely enjoying the privileges of affluence, they’ve focused on turning their resources to the greater good. Others were passionate about their cause from a very early age, and as they’ve grown, youthful enthusiasm has been transformed into action. And a third group has had greatness thrust upon them, either through life circumstances or a special expertise that has given them insights that the rest of us may not possess.
Whatever drives them, their stories demonstrate a compelling truth: start with what you can do, and you can indeed change the world.

I think in high school I really began to realize the power of finding my voice and being a problem-solver. I realized that I didn’t need to get caught up in the drama of high school and instead could use my time and talents to help make the world a better place. And so that’s what I set out to do.”
