I recently arrived at the hotel, a destination brimming with luxury and charm, in the company of my own two furry companions, Blue and Beau.

First impressions matter, and Hotel X excels at making guests feel valued. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the experience was seamless. The Concierge’s efficiency during check-in was only surpassed by their warmth – even Blue and Beau received personalized greetings as part of the exclusive VIP pet program. Such details elevate the experience, making every guest, furry or otherwise, feel special.
The pet program left no stone unturned. Blue and Beau were spoiled with a luxurious doggie bed, water and food bowls, premium treats, fetch toys, a Lick Mat, and a chic bandana. For added convenience, the hotel even offers a spa boutique, pet-sitting services, and curated pet-friendly activities. Hotel X’s dedication to ensuring pets feel as pampered as their owners is unmatched.
Room with a View
Our pet-friendly room was nothing short of spectacular. With floor-to-ceiling windows, we were treated to panoramic views of Lake Ontario and the Toronto skyline. Waking up to such breathtaking scenery, complete with the CN Tower in the distance, set the tone for a truly luxurious stay. The thoughtfully designed room balanced elegance and comfort, creating a sanctuary for relaxation.
The Guerlain Spa Experience
Once Blue and Beau were settled, I indulged in some much-needed self-care at the Guerlain Spa, the first of its kind in Canada. Before my arrival, I had a phone consultation with a specialist to select a treatment tailored to my needs. I opted for the Imperial Longevity Facial, a transformative experience featuring Guerlain’s signature Orchidée Impériale products.
The treatment’s expert techniques toned facial muscles, refined contours, and left my skin glowing. The estheticians’ skill and the spa’s tranquil atmosphere provided a rejuvenating escape from the bustling city below.
Kandy Art Gallery
Following the spa, I explored the Kandy Art Gallery, home to world-renowned photographer Neil Dankoff. Commissioned by Hotel X, Dankoff’s stunning works form the largest fine art photography collection in Canadian history. His breathtaking panorama of the Toronto skyline perfectly captures the view from the hotel – a testament to the beauty of both the art and the setting. This gallery is a must-visit for anyone seeking inspiration.
Dinner at The Valerie
Dinner at The Valerie was a highlight of the evening. Perched on the rooftop, the restaurant offers dazzling city views alongside its Japanese-inspired menu. I savoured Wagyu Tataki, Ebi Fritters, and a selection of baked hand rolls, all perfectly paired with cocktails crafted by skilled mixologists.
After dinner, I couldn’t resist a dip in the 55-foot heated rooftop pool. Swimming under the stars, with the twinkling skyline as a backdrop, was a serene way to end the day.
A Morning to Remember
Mornings at Hotel X are something special. Thanks to the convenience of the in-room Nespresso machine, I started my day with a perfect cup of coffee without leaving the comfort of my room. I spent time watching planes land at Billy Bishop Airport, marvelling at the Toronto skyline and the iconic CN Tower standing proudly against the horizon. The blend of urban energy and tranquil luxury was a perfect start to the day.
