Thailand’s Samujana Villas – Designed to be Delightful
Thailand’s Samujana Villas mix rich architecture with lush Mother Nature
Written By Genevieve Meyer
Floating in your very own infinity pool, it’s difficult to chose between the view forward of the Gulf of Thailand, or the spectacular villa behind you. Samujana, located on Koh Samui, Thailand’s third largest island, has the distinction of having each of its 25 charming villas beautifully designed by Gary Fell of GFAB Architects. Fell, who is one of Asia’s most in-demand architects, has created a dream-like look for the Samujana project, instilling space, style and sophistication into every indoor and outdoor area, while seamlessly integrating the bespoke villas into the Koh Samui landscape.
Each of the villas, which range from 1 to 8 bedrooms, has its own oversize infinity pool, modern Thai architecture and a host of services that put Samujana firmly in the hero-destination category.
For guests who truly want to get away from it all, you won’t have to worry about visiting the spa or dining out, as the masseuse and chef will come directly to you. For those wanting a bit more excitement, a Muay Thai instructor can drop by your private gym and give you a lesson your shins wont be forgetting for a while and just to emphasis the personal touch, your villa has its own manager, plus a maid on hand to make sure your stay is as cosseted as possible. Saying that, there’s plenty to do and see outside of the villa perimeter.
Samujana has its own sailboat for the exclusive use of guests and there are chauffeured tours of the island available, all arranged by your Experience Manager. For a longer excursion, we thoroughly recommend a trip to the South West of the island to spend a day in the Angthong National Marine Park. This stunning archipelago of 40 protected islands is ideal for diving and snorkeling, or for just watching the diverse wildlife that call the blue waters and limestone cliffs home.
The truth is, there is no real need to leave the whitewalls and infinity pools of your villa. GFAB Architects won the ‘Best Architectural Asia Property Award’ with its work on Samujana, infusing space and modern Thai architecture with Moroccan overtones. Your stay here is all about chilled outside living. If you’ve been stuck in an office since forever, then being able to relax in the pool, by the pool or in any one of Samujana’s outdoor lounges, bars or sundecks is absolutely priceless. The only problem is, at some stage you’ll have to leave and return to being an adult with responsibilities. Heck, you might even have to cook your own meal.
